April-May Update

Hello friends,

I hope you and yours are well and happy. 

No way to say it but to say it. Every bit of news we are getting as a company is bad. From the government bailout being designed to help mega corporations and making sure that businesses like mine won't see a penny of aid, to the cancelations of every convention we booked. I mean they just canceled Comic-con in July and I have no faith we will be allowed to resume a schedule before 2021, if we make it that long as a company. For those of you who have our products you know that seeing is believing and being able to touch these props that we create is half of it so the loss of public events is crippling. That is on the domestic side, on the search for a factory, that cannot even begin yet. The Chinese government has stopped active testing for the virus and is actually providing false data to the rest of the world about their situation. I am in contact with multiple people across their entire country who are all being affected in different ways. 

So what does this mean for Noble Dwarf and The Magical Draught of Happenstance?:

Simply put, we are focusing on website sales and bringing new products forward that can be created 100% in-house like our signature minis from The Legends of Calindria.  

I am excited and hopeful to release two of our Orpheric NPCs and our D20 mimic Fumbles! These miniatures are available only through our website. Please follow us on FB, IG, and Twitter @NobleDwarf and give our posts a like & share. Each set of eyes that see our posts may make all the difference in the world.

When the global situation has returned to a more normal state we will then begin again the process of finding a new capable factory. Please know this means at least 4-6 months before I even plan to look. I will continue to keep you posted but do not expect any kind of frequency or schedule to the updates as we already know its a long delay. Sorry for the further delay but I must admit the cancelation of Gary Con has hit me hard both on a personal and professional level to the point I needed to just take a moment. 

Nobody likes bad news, but lately, that seems to be all there is in the world today. We know that’s not true, and we keep hoping to have good news, but it’s not here yet.  So let’s not BS, and cover the situation as it stands.

1. We are still following all avenues to remedy the current situation, so we can’t go into too much detail, but we do feel that at this point we cannot proceed forward with this manufacturer.  This means finding another company that can produce both molds required for the bottle as well as producing the product in the quantity we need.
   
2. Covid-19 is now officially a Pandemic.  Travel to and from many locations around the globe is suspended, and large gatherings are being actively discouraged by lawmakers.  I don’t think we need to go into all of that, because it’s already being well covered.  Obviously this is going to affect the process of finding a new company.
   
   1. Most of the manufacturing is still shut down.  Some manufactures may not open again for months.
      
   2. When it does come back up, the companies we are looking for will likely be starting for their larger customers first, with smaller runs such as ours filling what downtime they have.
      
   3. We pretty much figure at this point that we will have to travel to the manufacturer at some point to actually verify the product quality.
      
3. We still have costs to cover for whatever new supplier we find.  This is made more difficult by the fact that the money for the production aspect of the bottle is tied up in the remediation process.  This means we’re looking for alternate revenue streams to help fill this gap in the meantime.  Of course, this means Kickstarter is out, because who’s gonna try to launch a new one when they’re in the middle of these kinds of production delays?
   

So here’s our goals going forward:

1. Wait out the current global situation
   
2. Find a manufacturer that can produce the product we want to bring to market, and won’t try to rip us off.
   
3. Get through the month and see where the world stands.
   
4. Re-do/Re-assess the work that we did before the Kickstarter kicked off, and figure out the impact to our bottom line.
   
5. Fulfill our obligations and get all the bottles and add-ons to you, our customers.
   

Updates will come as we can, hopefully with better news.

Hello all,

Thank you very much for your patience and understanding while we waited to hear from our overseas team. As you can imagine it is hard for investigators to travel to the factories in this health crisis. 

We have received word and are working on a detailed and complete update. We ask for just another day to get it all together.
